Majority Pakistanis believed it was possible for Pakistan to repeat the triumph of 1992 at the 2015 World Cup.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 73% Pakistanis said that it was possible for Pakistan to win the Cricket World Cup this year; 24% did not think it was possible.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked, “Please tell us, to what extent is it possible that Pakistan will win the cricket World Cup this year like in 1992?” In response to this question, 35% respondents said it was very possible, 38% said it was somewhat possible, 15% said it was very little possible, while 9% thought it was not at all possible and 3% did not respond. 

Question: “Please tell us, to what extent is it possible that Pakistan will win the cricket World Cup this year like in 1992?”

The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1379 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during February 09 - February 16, 2015. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
