78% Pakistanis hold a favorable opinion of the Imam of the mosque. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 78% Pakistanis hold a favorable opinion of the Imam of the mosque.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “Keeping in mind the responsibilities of the Imam, please tell us how his overall performance has been?” Responding to this, 37% said very good, 41% said good, 3% said bad and1% said very bad. 18% did not respond.

The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2594 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Feb 24, 2014 – Mar 03, 2014. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
