69% Pakistanis believe the charges against ex-President Pervez Musharraf to be correct. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN


Islamabad, Mar 18, 2014

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 69% Pakistanis believe the charges against ex-President Pervez Musharraf to be correct.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “Please tell us, to what extent do you think the charges against Musharraf are correct?” Responding to this, 35% said completely correct, 34% said somewhat correct and 13% said somewhat wrong. 12% responded completely wrong and 6% did not respond.

The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2594 men in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Feb 24, 2014 – Mar 03, 2014. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
