According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 61% Pakistanis say they do not purify their drinking water; 22% say they boil it.
A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “Generally, how do you purify your drinking water?” Responding to this, 22% said boil it, 7% said pass it through a net and 9% said use a filter. 61% of the respondents replied they do not take any purification measure. 1% did not respond.

The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2605 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Feb 03, 2014 – Feb 10, 2014. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
