30% Pakistanis say a good education is most important for their children in their future lives. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 30% Pakistanis say a good education is most important for their children in their future lives.  

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “In your opinion, out of the following, what is most important for your children in their future lives?” Responding to this, 30% said a good education, 22% said a good job and 24% replied an excellent standard of living. For 11% living in a country free of terrorism was important whereas for 8% good health was major factor. Only 5% of the respondents mentioned religious education.

The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2605 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Feb 03, 2014 – Feb 10, 2014. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
