70% Pakistanis are dissatisfied with government’s performance on decreasing inflation. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN

Islamabad, Jan 22, 2014

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 70% Pakistanis are dissatisfied with government’s performance on decreasing inflation.

A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “How satisfied are you with the performance of the government in decreasing inflation?” Responding to this, 7% of the respondents said they were very satisfied with government performance in decreasing inflation, 18% said they were somewhat satisfied and 28% replied they were somewhat dissatisfied. 42% claimed they were very dissatisfied and 5% did not respond.

The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2596 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during January 6, 2014 – Jan 13, 2014. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
