Only 16% Pakistanis claim to have travelled by airplane. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN

Islamabad, Dec 30, 2013

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, only 16% Pakistanis claim to have travelled by airplane.

A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “Have you ever travelled on an airplane?” Responding to this, 16% Pakistanis said that they have travelled by airplane whereas 81% said they have not. 3% did not give a view.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2619 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during September 16 – September 23, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
