15% Pakistanis will very likely vote for ex-President Musharraf in the next elections if he is exonerated from all cases filed against him. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 15% Pakistanis will very likely vote for ex-President Musharraf in the next elections if he is exonerated from all cases filed against him.

A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “If the ex-President is honorably exonerated from all the cased filed against him, please tell us what are the chances that you will vote for him in the next election?” Responding to this, 15% said there was a very high chance, 36% believed there was a somewhat chance, while 48% claimed there was no chance at all. 1% did not respond.

The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2616 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during October 21, 2013 – Oct 28, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
