64% Pakistanis had a chance to perform Sacrifice on Eid this year; of which, 52% say they sacrificed a cow/bull. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN

Islamabad, Nov 20, 2013

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 64% Pakistanis had a chance to perform Sacrifice on Eid this year; of which, 52% say they sacrificed a cow/bull.

A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “Did you get a chance to sacrifice this Eid or not?” Responding to this, 64% replied in the affirmative whereas 36% said no.

The individuals who responded positively were further asked: “If you got a chance, what animal did you sacrifice?” Responding to this, 52% said cow/bull, 45% said goat/lamb and 5% said a portion in a cow or bull.

(Note: This was a multiple response question so the percentage sum exceeds 100.)
