40% Pakistanis believe there is significant chance that latest Pakistan-India talks will be successful. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 40% Pakistanis believe there is significant chance that latest Pakistan-India talks will be successful.

A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “Recently, there was a decision to continue with Pakistan-India talks. In your opinion, what are the chances that the Pakistan-India talks will be successful?” Responding to this, 6% said there was a very high chance, 34% said somewhat and 44% said very little. 14% said not at all and 2% did not respond.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2674 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Sep 30, 2013 – Oct 07, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
