72% Pakistanis say they have read or heard about the Dengue virus. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN

Islamabad, Oct 25, 2013

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 72% Pakistanis say they have read or heard about the Dengue virus.

A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “Have you ever heard or read anything about the dengue virus?” Responding to this, 72% said yes and 28% said no.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2646 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Sep 23, 2013 – Sep 30, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
