56% Pakistanis still think that the American Government was behind the 9/11 attacks. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 56% Pakistanis still think that the American Government was behind the 9/11 attacks.

A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “12 years ago, thousands of Americans died due to explosions on September 11th. In your opinion, who was responsible for these blasts?” Responding to this, 59% still held the American government responsible, 20% said it was Al-Qaeda and 14% said it Israel. 7% did not respond.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2655 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Sep 09, 2013 – Sep 16, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
