14% Pakistanis said a child in their household had diarrhea in the last two weeks. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN

Islamabad, Oct 30, 2013

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 14% Pakistanis said a child in their household had diarrhea in the last two weeks.

A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “In the past two weeks, has any child in your household had diarrhea?” Responding to this, 14% said yes, 85% said no and 1% did not respond.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2646 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Sep 23, 2013 – Sep 30, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
