76% Pakistanis believe that the country’s youth faces problems internationally because of Pakistan’s role in the war against terrorism. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN


Islamabad, Sept 11, 2013

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 76% Pakistanis believe that the country’s youth faces problems internationally because of Pakistan’s role in the war against terrorism.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “The war against terror has really affected the structure of Pakistan. Due to this Pakistani youth has to face a lot of problems in other countries. Some people agree with this statement, others disagree. What is your view?” Responding to this, 76% said that they agreed, 5% of the respondents disagreed and 17% neither agreed nor disagreed. 2% did not respond.

Question: “The war against terror has really affected the structure of Pakistan. Due to this Pakistani youth has to face a lot of problems in other countries. Do you agree with this?”

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2626 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during July 22, 2013 – July 30, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
