53% Pakistanis believe that Pakistani youth are facing an identity crisis because of globalization. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN

Islamabad, Sept 10, 2013

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 53% of Pakistanis believe that the Pakistani youth are facing an identity crisis because of globalization.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Do you think the pressures of globalization have pushed the Pakistani youth into an identity crisis or not?” Responding to this, 53% believed that the Pakistani youth are suffering an identity crisis as a result of globalization, 28% disagreed and 19% did not respond.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2533 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during July 21, 2013 – July 27, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
