84% of Pakistanis say that their household expenditures have increased due to mounting inflation levels. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 84% of Pakistanis say that their household expenditures have increased due to mounting inflation levels.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “To what extent have your household expenditures been impacted by mounting inflation in recent times?” Responding to this, 51% said to a great extent, 33% said to some extent, 12% said very little and 2% said not at all. However, 2% chose not to respond. 

 Question: “To what extent have your household expenditures been impacted by   mounting inflation in recent times?”

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2646 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during June 17, 2013 – June 24, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
