37% Pakistanis say they personally know about the “character and personality” of most of the candidates contesting elections from their constituency. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN


Islamabad, May 10, 2013

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 37% Pakistanis say they personally know about the “character and personality” of most of the candidates contesting elections from their constituency.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Do you personally know of the character and personality of any of the candidates contesting elections from your constituency?” Responding to this, 37% said they know about most of them, 38% said they know about some of them and 25% said they do not know of any of them personally.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2686 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during April 08, 2013 – April 15, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
