59% of Pakistani parents say their child goes to tuition centers after school. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN


Islamabad, April 03, 2013

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 59% of Pakistani parents say their child goes to tuition centers after school.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Does your child go to tuition centers after school?” Responding to this, 59% said yes and 33% said no. However, 8% did not give a response.

It is interesting to note that 67% of children in urban areas go to tuition centers after school compared to 55% from rural areas.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1821 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during March 11, 2013 – March 18, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
