53% of Pakistanis have heard/read about April Fool’s Day. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN


Islamabad, April 18, 2013

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 53% of Pakistanis have heard/read about April Fool’s Day.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “April Fool’s Day has been celebrated all over the world for many years. Have you heard/read anything about it?” Responding to this, 53% said yes and 46% said no. However, 1% did not give a response.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2639 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during March 18, 2013 – March 25, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
