28% of Pakistanis said they have played an April Fool’s prank on someone. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN

Islamabad, April 23, 2013

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 28% of Pakistanis said they have played an April Fool’s prank on someone.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Have you ever played an April Fool’s prank on someone?” Responding to this, 28% said yes and 71% said no. However, 1% did not give a response. This question was only asked from people who have heard of April Fool’s Day.

Interestingly, there is not much difference between the responses of men and women, with 29% of men saying they’ve played an April Fool’s prank on someone and 26% of women saying they’ve played an April Fool’s prank on someone.
