69% of Pakistanis have heard or read about Valentine’s Day. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN


Islamabad, February 19, 2013

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 69% of Pakistanis have heard or read about Valentine’s Day.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “In recent years, Valentine’s Day has been celebrated in Pakistan in the month of February. Have you heard or read anything about it?” Responding to this, 69% said yes and 31% said no.

Question: “In recent years, Valentine’s Day has been celebrated in Pakistan in the month of February. Have you heard or read anything about it?”

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2730 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during February 04, 2013 – February 11, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
