Majority (88%) of Pakistanis claim that they will fight for their country if the situation arises. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, majority (88%) of Pakistanis claim that they will fight for their country if the situation arises.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Of course we all hope that there will not be another war, but if it were to come to that; would you be willing to fight for your country?” Responding to this, 88% claim that they would be willing to fight for their country whereas 10% claim they will not participate. However 2% did not give a view.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1200 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during October 04, 2012 – October 19, 2012. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 percent at 95% confidence level.
