Only 12% of Pakistanis say that someone from their household went for Hajj this year. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN


Islamabad, November 16, 2012
According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, only 12% of Pakistanis say that someone from their household went for Hajj this year.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Has anyone from your household gone for Hajj this year?” Responding to this, 12% said that someone from their household has gone for Hajj this year whereas 87% said that no one from their house has gone for Hajj. However, 1% did not give a view.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2673 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during October 28, 2012 – November 02, 2012. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
