12% of Pakistanis say they have travelled by air. GILANI POLL/GALLUP PAKISTAN


Islamabad, October 23, 2012

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 12% of Pakistanis say they have travelled by air. The survey was conducted among Pakistanis residing in Pakistan and does not include Pakistanis who currently work overseas, most of whom would have travelled by air.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Have you ever travelled on an airplane?” Responding to this, 12% said yes and 88% said no.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2674 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during October 07, 2012 – October 13, 2012. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
